How to Deactivate or Delete Facebook Account.
This tutorial is written for users that decided to leave behind their Facebook "life", and want to temporarily (or to permanently) deactivate or delete their Facebook account.
Facebook, is the biggest and most known social network today to share photos, videos and ideas with others. But, many Facebook users are disappointed by it, because they don't like the way Facebook stores, keeps and shares their information or they don’t find it interesting anymore.
Important: Before you permanently delete your Facebook account you must consider, that once you delete your Facebook account, you won’t be able to use your account again and you will not have access to your personal info & data (e.g. photos, videos, etc.) anymore. So, the first thing that you have to do, before deleting your Facebook account, is to backup your personal information from Facebook.

Part 1. How to Deactivate your Facebook Account.
Before you proceed to delete your Facebook account, I suggest you deactivate your account for some days until you decide for sure that you don’t want it and there is no need to use it anymore. But, if you have already taken your final decision and you want to permanently delete your Facebook account, proceed to Part-2.
1. Go to Facebook webpage (http://www.facebook.com) and login to your Facebook account.
2. Click the down arrow icon on the top right corner and select Settings.
3. At General account settings, click Manage Account.
4. Scroll down and click Deactivate your account.
5. Type your account password and click Continue.
4. At the next screen read carefully the information provided and…*
a. Give a Reason for leaving Facebook.
b. If you administer other Facebook pages, add other FB users as Administrator.
c. Check the Email opt out box, if you don't want to receive email invitations from Facebook friends anymore.
d. If you have developed any platform applications, then specify if you want to delete them or not.
e. Finally click the Deactivate button to deactivate your FB account.
* Important: When you deactivate your account, your timeline and all information associated with it disappears from Facebook immediately. People on Facebook will not be able to search for you or view any of your information. So read carefully all the information at the warning screen before deactivating your account.
5. That's it! Now your account is deactivated. From now on you can come back to Facebook anytime (if you decide to do that so) by logging in with your Facebook username (e-mail) and password. When you do that all your timeline, friends, photos, etc. will be restored in their original state as before deactivation.
Part 2. How to Delete your Facebook Account Permanently.
1. Go to Facebook Delete Account webpage (https://www.facebook.com/help/delete_account)
2. At the Permanently Delete Account options:
a. Choose Deactivate Account, if you want to take a break from Facebook.
b. Backup your personal information from Facebook.
c. If you administer other Facebook pages, click Edit Admin Settings and add other FB users as Administrators on the pages.
d. If you have developer Facebook apps, click the Manage Apps button and delete them.
e. Click Delete Account to erase your FB account and all your Facebook information.
3. On “Permanently Delete Account” window, type your password (1) and the Captcha text displayed bellow (2) and finally click “Okay”
4. That’s it. Facebook informs you that your account has been deactivated. If you don’t login to your account within the next 14 days, then your account will be deleted (deactivated) forever.
