Worked great! After I realized the word "Administrators" must be replaced by your native word if your Windows isn't English.
Thanks! Finally I could get rid of remnants of uninstall of Roblox………

Thank you! I followed the instructions, and can now view the contents of the windowsapps folder. I have not yet tried other operations. I am trying to find the location of application stubs in the start menu that are not yet installed, but will install themselves if you click on them. This is on Windows 11 Home version.

Has anyone been able to perform the procedure and have had permission to edit the files inside the WindowsApps folder?

Step 1-3 works for me. Step 3 takes several minutes. Step 4 fails.

Is anyone know how to implement permissions under "c:\programfiles\windowsapps\packagefolder" in msix package.

Thanks a lot, but you haven't described how to reverse it (get back non-allowance).

Step 5 needs "\*" at the end of the path. It should be

    icacls "%ProgramFiles%\WindowsApps\*" /grant Administrators:F /t

Otherwise, it will process $RECYCLE.BIN and other folders.

Followed steps but cannot remove Encryption – "An error occurred applying attributes to file". I can view files but can't modify.

Sadly I have the same issue – this is not enough to view and edit encrypted files. :( Looks like that is going to be a headache.

@nottud: Try the procedure in Part 2 in Windows Safe.

I now have access to the folder and subcontents, but I still get permission required when trying to copy a file.

@Allen Gresham: Thank you for the information. The article is updated to bypass the permissions issue. Please follow again the steps at Part-2 and inform me for the result.

    Number 4 should be
    icacls "%ProgramFiles%\WindowsApps" /grant Administrators:F /t
(lowercase /t, otherwise it will give an error message…)

Unfortunately it does not work, commands work – but access is denied every time you try to modify file in WindowsApps directory… Any solution for that?

@Mark: Are you logged in as Admin? When you try to assign full access rights (part 2-icacls) you replace the %username% with your own user-name?
