Thanks very much, it worked for me after changing the shortcut target, it was added on at the end just like you said. Thanks again!

When I try to rename it, it says "The action can't be completed because the folder or file is open in another program." I also had chrome closed, and ran ccleaner before I did it.

I 'm afraid that you are still infected from malware. I suggest, to follow the steps in this guide to disinfect your computer: https://www.wintips.org/malware-removal-guide/
After that, while in "Safe Mode" rename the "User Data" folder and then reboot your computer and open Chrome.
      Good luck!

The resetting chrome did not work for me. For userdata, I cant find "C:\Users\%USERNAME%\AppData\Local\Google\Chrome\" (or "C:\Documents and Settings\%USERNAME%\Local Settings\Application Data\Google\Chrome\" maybe because i have windows 8.

I'm sorry that I did not mention it before…you have to enable 'Hidden Files' view first: Open "Control Panel", change the "View by" to small icons and open "Folder Options". At “View” tab, select (check) the “Show hidden files, folders and drives” option and press “OK”. Then you will be able to find (view) the "User Data" folder.

Joe, lets reset Chrome settings: 1. Go to Chrome Settings, scroll down and click “Show Advanced Settings". 2. Scroll down again & click “Reset browser settings”. 3. Restart Google Chrome.
If this doesn't work then create a new empty (clean) profile storage folder ("User Data"). Keep in mind, that by doing that you have to re-install all your Chrome extensions again:
      1. First backup your bookmarks (https://www.wintips.org/how-to-import-and-export-your-bookmarks-in-google-chrome/#method-1).
      2. Close Chrome & navigate to this location:
      "C:\Users\%USERNAME%\AppData\Local\Google\Chrome\" (or "C:\Documents and Settings\%USERNAME%\Local Settings\Application Data\Google\Chrome\" if you have Windows XP).
      3. Rename the "User Data" folder to "User Data_OLD".
      4. Open Chrome, restore your bookmarks and your 're done!

Hello joe, check your Internet Browser shortcut properties and remove any "Tuvaro" value. To do that:
      1. Right click on your Internet browser icon (shortcut) and choose “Properties”.
      2. On the “Shortcut” tab, look in the “Target” field and delete the “http://www.tuvaro.com/…” value written after “iexplore.exe” (for IE shortcut) or “firefox.exe” (for Firefox Shortcut), or “chrome.exe” (for chrome shortcut) and choose “OK”.

This has not worked for me. Firefox is still being hijacked to tuvaro. What I have done so far: Reset firefox to original settings. Ran Adwcleaner and removed everything it found. Ran JRT (Junkware removal tool) to get rid of any lingering files. Ran antimalwarebytes. It found no malicious software. Reboot. Ran Firefix. Came up to Tuvaro AGAIN! There's nothing in extentions, no trace I can find of the hijacker. But it is still hijacking! What can I do????

Hello John. 1. Right-click on Firefox shortcut & choose “Properties”. At “Shortcut” tab look at the “Target” field & delete the “http://www.tuvaro.com/…” argument found at the end of the “Target” command (if exists).
      2. At URL address box, type: "about:config” & press Enter. (Click the “I’ll be careful, I promise” button).
      – At the search box type the word “tuvaro” and press Enter.
      – Right-click on every “tuvaro” value found and choose “Reset”.
      – Restart Firefox.

than you very much for this, it helped A LOT
i finally got rid of that annoying thing!
btw, the toolbar had a different name on my pc so you might want to let other people know that it might come in different names just in case they dont notice it themselves

you may find that the name 'tuvaro ' has been removed from all their entries, so you'll have to identify by date, or other means. It makes it more difficult to find and remove all entries.
