In a Windows 7 (fresh installation on a customer’s notebook computer) a Blue Screen of Death (BSOD) error appeared during Windows Updates. The error seems to be caused by the “Igdpmd64.sys” file.
After some researching on the Internet, I finally found that “Igdpmd64.sys” (64bit OS) or “Igdpmd32.sys” (32bit OS) error is commonly caused on Windows 7 OS (SP1) based computer after the installation of Windows KB2670838 update during Automatic Windows Update procedure.
This tutorial is written to help users to solve the “Igdpmd64.sys” or “igdpmd32.sys” error message on Windows 7 SP1 based computers.
The following error message appeared on a HP Pavilion DV7 (Windows 7 SP1 64Bit) notebook computer:

2. From the left pane click on “Device Manager” manager link.

@lakonst: thanx for your help. This is how I fixed the problem:
I have this dual-graphic card configuration in my laptop, Intel and AMD. With the driver CD that came with the computer, I had first installed the Intel driver (April 2011 version), then the AMD driver. The AMD driver also changed the Intel driver to a May 2011 version (this is when the problem started, with only the April 2011 Intel driver installed and no driver installed for the AMD graphics card, I discovered the problem didn't exist yet. Only after installing the AMD driver from the CD).
Updating the Intel driver wasn't possible, none available on the computer manufacturer's support site and Intel's update app gives a message that I have a 'customized manufacturer driver', so no updates. Installing the newest AMD driver from AMD's site didn't fix the problem, but I discovered it also didn't change the May 2011 Intel driver.
Now I could fix the problem by first installing the 'old' April 2011 Intel driver from the CD, then the newest AMD driver from AMD, which leaves the old Intel driver unharmed.

This error occurs all the time when I'm trying to view a flash-player movie. KB2834140 (method 2) is already installed, so are the latest AMD drivers (method 3), but I'm still experiencing this error. It was partly fixed when I started to run IE as Administrator (at least doesn't produce the error right away when loading the site, but it comes randomly at viewing time).
Problem is, if I uninstall KB2670838 (method 1), Internet Explorer 11 is also automatically uninstalled and I end up with IE 8 again on my Windows 7 Pro SP1 computer. When I try to reinstall IE 11, KB2670838 is also reinstalled. With old IE 8 a lot of modern sites really don't work like they should. I don't like Chrome or Mozilla, really want IE. Is there any solution? Never had any problems with this computer when I was using IE 9, but I can't get IE 9 or 10 on Microsoft's site anymore. Also no system recovery because I reïnstalled Windows on a new hard drive when my old one got corrupted.

@ces: Disable Hardware Acceleration when play videos and see if it helps. (Right-click on video select Settings and uncheck the "Enable Hardware Acceleration" checkbox).
If this doesn't solve your problem:
1. Remove IE 11
2. Download & install IE 10 manually (32bit, 64bit)
3. Install this MS Toolkit to prevent the installation of IE 11.
Good luck.
