Having the not unusual media disconnected problem on my Dell laptop I went through all the suggested solutions without success. The network adapter just wouldn't respond. Having got to number 9, 'replace the network adapter', I tried one more thing in desperation.
I rebooted the laptop from a live Linux USB to see if that would connect – lo and behold, I had my WiFi back on Linux.
Even better, when I rebooted back into Windows 11 the media disconnected messages had gone and full connections restored.
I can only assume the adaptor gets locked in some way in Windows that Linux can unlock again?
