Konstantinos is the founder and administrator of Wintips.org. Since 1995 he works and provides IT support as a computer and network expert to individuals and large companies. He is specialized in solving problems related to Windows or other Microsoft products (Windows Server, Office, Microsoft 365, etc.).

    My file explorer started to hang after a failed update. The first solution worked like a charm for me. This was so annoying!!!! Thanks so much!!!

    Thank you! I know absolutely nothing about computers, but was able to follow this (it was a shell extension issue – StartAllBack). :-)

    Try- control panel- indexing options- advanced- REBUILD.
    Depending on system run when you're sleeping.
    If this doesn't work then -rt click windows start in taskbar- computer mgnt- Services,
    now disable windows search.
    Searching folders or drives actually works better with this disabled.
    Microsuck for you.
    This was on 26200-6584 25H2, which doesn't have any great performance boost, but does have more junk and logging, because SSD's love writes, telem, lol.
