FIX: Bookings not syncing with Outlook Calendar (Office 365)
If your Microsoft Bookings page isn't syncing with your Outlook calendar meetings and shows you as available even when you're busy, continue reading below to fix the problem.
Symptom: You've created a shared booking page to allow colleagues or people outside your organization to book a meeting with you, but it does not sync with your personal calendar in Outlook, causing times when you're unavailable to appear as available. For example, a time or day that you have set as busy and is blocked in your Outlook calendar appears as available in the Booking Calendar.
Cause: The no-syncing issue between your Outlook Calendar and Bookings calendar mainly occurs because the Booking calendar does not have read permissions to your Personal calendar in Outlook. To fix the problem, apply the instructions below.
How to FIX: Booking Calendar is not synchronizing with Outlook Personal Calendar. (Microsoft/Office 365).
In order for the Bookings page calendar to "see" when you are busy in your personal calendar so that it does not show you as available, you must grant read permissions to your personal calendar.
1. Open your personal calendar in Outlook for web.
2. Click the Share button in the menu bar.
3. In the Sharing and permissions window, select People in my organization: Can view when I'm busy to allow the Booking calendar to check your availability times from your personal calendar in Outlook.*
* Info: This setting shares your free/busy information with Bookings and with other users in your organization. It doesn't include any other information.
4. Now wait 10-15 minutes, then open the booking page and check if you can book an appointment at a time you have set in your personal calendar as unavailable (busy).
Additional help.
Normally, after you enable the ability to read when you are busy or free in your personal calendar, the booking calendar will show as unavailable the hours/days you are busy. If this does not happen, check the following:
1. Make sure that at the time you appear as available in Bookings, you are busy in your personal calendar. To do, open the appointment, meeting, or event that you have in that time and ensure that its status is set to Busy.
2. Ensure that the option "Events on Office calendar affect availability" is enabled on your staff account. To do that:
a. in Booking page settings, select Staff of the left, select the staff member and click Edit staff.
b. In Staff settings, ensure that the Events on Office calendar affect availability is checked.
3. Make sure you have set the same Time zone set on both your computer, in Outlook Calendar for web (OWA) and on the Booking page.
To set the Time zone on your PC:
1. Right-click on date-time on the taskbar and click Adjust date and time.
2. Here ensure that your have set the correct Time zone according your region.
To set the Time zone on Outlook for Web:
1. Click on the Settings icon to the left of your account icon an then select Calendar on the left.
2. In the "Time Zones" area, set the same time zone as your computer and click Save.
To set the Time zone on a Booking page:
1. in Booking page settings, expand Region and time zone settings and set the same Current time zone as in your computer and OWA.
