How to Change the Google Business Profile Owner.
If you want to change the owner on your Google Business Profile to transfer ownership to another person or change your Google Business email address (account), this guide will provide detailed instructions on how to do it.
The Google Business Profile owner is the person who has claimed and verified ownership of a Google Business Profile listing. This owner has the authority to manage the listing information, including the business name, location, hours of operation, and other information that appears on Google Search and Google Maps.
In addition, the owner of a Google Business Profile has the ability to transfer primary ownership to another user if needed. This can be important for businesses changing hands or when restructuring the management of a business.
How to Transfer Primary Ownership of a Google Business Profile.
1. From a computer's web browser*, sign in to Google Mail (or any other Google app), using the Gmail account that is the Primary owner of the Google Business profile you want to transfer/change ownership to.
* Important: These steps must be done only from a computer's WEB browser, because Google doesn't allow to change the owner of Google Business from a mobile or tablet device.
2. Click on Google Apps menu at the left of your profile picture and open the Google Business Profile Manager.
3. Click the three (3) dots menu next to 'Your business ion Google' and then click to open the Business Profile settings.
4. In 'Business Profile settings', click People and access.
5. Now click the Add button.
6. Type the Gmail address of the person that you want to be the new owner of your Google Business, check the Owner option below and click Invite.
7. Now, ask the person you added to approve the invitation by clicking on the invitation link they received in their email.
8. After approval, click on the name of the person you added.
9. Highlight Access and then click Edit (Pen icon)
10. Select Primary Owner and click Save.
11. You're done!*
* Note: The new Google Business Profile owner must wait 7 days to be able to manage all features. During this 7-day period, it will receive an error if it tries to:
-
Delete or undelete a profile.
-
Remove other owners or managers from a profile.
-
Transfer the primary ownership to a third user.
