How to Install Chrome or any 'Line of Business' app on Intune Enrolled Windows Devices.
This guide contains step-by-step instructions on how to deploy Google Chrome or any Line of Business (LoB) app on enrolled Windows devices in Intune, ensuring a smooth rollout across your enterprise.
In today's workplace, efficient app distribution to managed Windows devices is essential for IT teams. Microsoft Intune provides a powerful solution for installing Line-of-Business (LOB) apps — in .msi, .appx, .appxbundle, .msix, or .msixbundle format — to Windows 10/11 devices enrolled in Intune.
What are Line-of-Business (LoB) apps?
LOB applications are typically custom applications that are specific to a business and used in its daily operations. More specifically, Line-of-Business applications are applications that are often developed in-house or provided by a vendor to meet specific company needs (e.g. ERP/CRM clients, accounting software, etc.).
However, today, some well-known program manufacturers release single file installers for their applications (such as Google Chrome, 7-zip, etc.) in .MSI format, so that they can be installed on enterprise devices.*
* Note: For Windows, Intune supports the following installer formats for LoB apps:
- .msi (Windows Installer)
- .msix / .msixbundle
- .appx / .appxbundle
