My mouse and touchpad intermittently will not "click" (left or right click) in certain applications. It is not consistent, but as an example, i can use the mouse or touchpad in Teams, but when I am in Excel, I cannot click. I can move the cursor, but not click. It has happened several times in the last week or two. I have eventually been able to shut down all my applications and restart the laptop. The issue is then gone for a while, but seems to come back.could you please assist me please.

I had this issue in Windows 7, it even persisted when I re-imaged the machine with an clean Windows10 image known to work on a twin machine.

It turned out that one of the extra buttons on my Logitech mouse was jammed down. My advise, try a different mouse and check your mouse hardware for damage/malfunction.
