Interestingly, Zoom has a recording option to help you record and save meetings. This can be especially useful if you don't want to miss small details of your business meetings or if you want to remember later the good time you had with your friends at a virtual party or meeting.

How to Record Zoom Meetings Locally on Windows 10.

Method 1: How to Record & Save Zoom Meetings Using Zoom Web Portal.
The first method to record and save your Zoom meetings locally, is by using the Zoom Web portal. To proceed using this method, you have to enable the Local Recording feature on your Zoom account.
1. Navigate to Zoom’s web page and sign in to your account.
2. Select Settings from the left panel and click on Recordings on the right pane.
3. Turn the toggle against Local recording to On. At verification dialog, choose Turn On to verify the change. *
* Note: If the option is grayed out, it has been disabled at either the Group or Account level, and you have to contact your Zoom administrator. If you're the Zoom Administrator, then enable the Hosts can give meeting participants permission to record locally option to allow participants to record the meeting locally.
4. (Optionally), if you want to record the meeting automatically at start, set the Automatic recording toggle to On. You can also scroll down the screen to view/adjust advanced settings.
5. To start recording (manually) the Zoom meeting, just press the Record button in the meeting window.
6. Once the meeting has ended (or if you want to stop the recording at any time), press the Stop button to end recording.
7. At the end of recording, Zoom will convert the recording into a format that you can view. Just wait for the process to complete.
8. Finally navigate to the following location on your PC to find and view the Zoom recorded file:*
- C:\Users\Username\Documents\Zoom.
* Note: By default, the video recorded file (MP4) will be named Zoom_0.mp4
Method 2: How to Record & Save Zoom Meetings Using Zoom Desktop App.
The second method to record and save to a video file a Zoom meeting, is by using the Zoom Desktop application.
1. Launch Zoom on your PC and click on the gear icon to launch Settings.
2. Select Recording from the left panel and check the box against Record video during screen sharing.
3. Close Zoom settings.
4. To record a Zoom Meeting, click on the Record button to begin recording. If a menu pops up, click on Record on this computer. You can also click on the Participants to see which other participants are recording the video.
5. To pause or stop recording, click the Pause or Stop icon next to Recording…
6. At the end of recording, Zoom will convert the recording into a format that you can view. Just wait for the process to complete.
8. To view the Zoom recorded video file, navigate to the following location on your PC:*
- C:\Users\Username\Documents\Zoom.
* Note: By default, the video recorded file (MP4) will be named Zoom_0.mp4
Method 3: How to Record & Save Zoom Meetings without the other person knowing with “Game Bar” in Windows 10.
Windows has a built-in feature called Game Bar, which helps players record video, stream the game online and take screenshots. But with the Game Bar you can also record almost any open application on your screen.
For example, you can use the Windows 10 Game Bar to record and save Zoom sessions without other participants knowing and without host's permission.
To Record a Zoom meeting with Game Bar:
1. Press Windows + I keys simultaneously on your keyboard to launch Settings.
2. In the Settings window, click on Gaming.
3. Inside the Gaming window, select Xbox Game Bar from the left panel and then switch the toggle On in the right side to enable the Game Bar.
4. Next, launch Zoom and join a meeting.
5. Once the meeting has started, press Windows + G keys together on your keyboard to open the Game bar.
a. To Start the recording press the Windows + ALT + R keys, or click the Record button in the 'Game Capturing' options. *
* Note: Game bar recordings, are muted by default. To record audio press the Microphone icon once to turn it ON.
b. To Stop the recording, press the Windows + ALT + R keys simultaneously again.
6. Upon completion of the recording, you will see a message that states that the recording has been completed. Click on the message to navigate to the location where the recording is saved. You can also directly navigate to C:\Users\UserName\My Documents\My Videos\Captures\ in the file explorer to find the saved clip. *
* Note: Game bar recordings are automatically saved as .MP4 files.
